Awe man, I can’t believe I missed yesterday! I had the most wonderful stirrup leg warmers on I wanted to share too! I can’t even go grab them and put them on and take a picture, either, because they are full of sawdust! (Long story…It involves three dead trees, the coolest saw ever [hubby called it a chop saw] and two yakima racks…Don’t ask LOL)

Today is going to be a hot day, (I’m writing this at 830AM) so I wont be able to keep the silver star leg warmers I have on now, for much longer, but seeing as I just got them in the mail on Monday, I really feel the need to wear them at least a bit!

To compromise between my desire to wear them, and Mother Nature, I haven’t pulled them up over my knee, and I do not have socks on under them!



I won’t lie. They are a bit tight. I am hoping that with repeated wearing/washing they will get looser. Right now I could not imagine wearing them over anything heavier than tights.



These silver stars are what drew me to them in the first place, that and the scalloped hems, but you can’t really see those in the photos the stars are threaded right into the leg warmer, not printed on. Note the metallic thread to give it sparkle.



The only downside to the threaded designs is of course, the thread! It was a bit of a challenge, with the warmers tightness, to get the thing on and up past my toes – this probably wouldn’t be a problem if I had socks or tights on though!

Do not Shoot me for what I am about to say. . .

This morning when I woke up, I threw back the covers and let out an involuntary yelp when the cold air hit me, and then? I smiled.

It is plus 8°C this morning and the first thing I did upon jumping out of bed was grab my housecoat and run to my Sweet sock storage solution center and open the fifth drawer down. The one full of leg warmers!

This is the First time in a loooong while it has been cool enough for me to wear a pair without being too hot!



I love these leg warmers the best, they fit so perfect, not too tight not too lose and I LOVE the scalloped bottom. I am trying to talk myself out of buying the super long version of these.

They are itchy, so I had to cuff them today as the socks I chose (grey zips*) are only knee high!

*Interestingly enough, I went back to the very beginning of SnP looking for the post where I talked about the grey zips and I cant find one! Guess that means they are up on deck for tomorrows post

Well, that’s it then, isn’t it? We are home from vacation, the last we will take this summer, the boys start school on Thursday – we spent this evening doing some last minute school shopping, I had no idea a protractor compass set was so hard to find!

On one hand, I am excited that summer is over, I have a million amazing socks that i have been dying all summer to wear – it’s been too hot to wear them. I’ve got, and am expecting an order of, some beautiful leg warmers, and I won’t be able to wear them until it is sufficiently cold, so, YAY! Winter!

But then there is the other hand, soundly slapping me upside the head screaming about icy roads, minus forty days and frostbit noses.

One thing for it, though, I will be able to update Socks N Paws the way it was meant to be updated, again.

I have been busy, sock wise, this summer, even though you cannot tell it by the blog. Aside from finding some AHMazing websites to buy socks from, and finding some bargains for Christmas this year, I have actually completed a good 3/4 of my Christmas shopping – No, not all of it is socks – shocking enough, not everyone loves socks!



Taylor Swift likes socks though. These are from July fourth, and I figured I better post them now, becuase its going to look odd posting green grass and patriotic colors in the middle of winter, eh?

I have the exact same white and red stripes Taylor is wearing, what I do NOT have is the blue sparkle ballet flats! I would like a pair in EVERY color, please!

Tomorrow will be spent labeling pens, pencils and other school supplies, Thursday will be spent crying, as I send my boys off for another year of education, and Friday, who knows what that will bring – I do fully expect to be right back to normal come next Monday!

I recently ordered a few things online. I first heard about them a few months back – they are sock coin purses. have you heard of them?


Basically, they take an ankle sock and attach ..here, let me show you:

If you are interested in sock coin purses, either hit up google for a site that sells them, or head to ebay – I went through eBay. I was also thinking that probably etsy has them as well!

When I was searching for images of the coin purses, I ran across an image that sidetracked me for a bit as I researched it.

Did you know some people use old sock to clean their toilets?! How gross! I\m not upset that socks are being shoved into dirty Kohler toilets to scrub them clean – although at first I was all NO! NOT THE SOCKS!

Nope. What icks me out is how do you get the icky disgusting germy poop covered sock from the toilet to the garbage without dripping gross toilet water all over? And please, for the love of all things Socks, tell me no one washes them and reuses them in the toilet! I can’t imagine washing my clothes or towels with toilet water socks!
